T-Mobile SpringBoard 4G Tablet Released, Together With the HSPA+ Version of Galaxy Tab 10.1 on the Same Carrier

T-Mobile USA has just released a bunch of 4G Android tablet, including the 7 inch T-Mobile Springboard and the 10.1 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The former is a rebranded Huawei MediaPad, while the Samsung device gets HSPA+ as an extra.

Huawei MediaPad aka the SpringBoard 4G comes with a 7 inch display, a dual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor and a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture. Add to that a front camera for videocalls (1.3MP), an SD card slot, GPS and some preloaded services: Netflix, T-Mobile TV, Blockbuster on Demand, all of these taking advantage of the HSPA+ 14.4 Mbps connection.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is already a famous product, so there’s no need to mention the 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display, the dual core 1GHz processor or the 3 megapixel main camera and 2 megapixel front camera. I guess I did mention them in the end, but a quick reminder never killed anyone, right? Personally I don’t find the name SpringBoard very appealing, but T-Mobile must have some marketing studies behind this decision…
