If you’ve ever cruised through Google’s online store, you’d know that it’s a veritable treasure trove of Google/Android/Chrome branded goodies with everything from dog bowls, to cookie jars. Well, a filing found today by Bloomberg hints at the possibility that Google could be opening up their own brick-and-mortar retail store near it’s European headquarters in Dublin Ireland.

I’m sure you’re asking yourself, “Why doesn’t Google open up a store like this in their homeland of the good ‘ol U-S-of-A?” Well, they have. Unbeknownst to me — and I’m sure many of our readers — apparently, there is a Google store and in California no less. But before you start booking your plane tickets, unfortunately, it’s not open to the public. Yup, my dreams were crushed as well.

In the planning application for the Dublin store, Google said that this time it would, in fact, be open to the public and sell various “Google merch.” The more interesting part is that the store would be approximately 1,323 square feet and feature a restaurant, as well as staff swimming pool, which, in context, doesn’t sound so crazy if you’ve ever looked into how well Google treats their employees.

This wouldn’t be the first time Google has toyed around with the retail store idea. Back in October, they opened up Chrome Zone, a small retail area for Chromebooks inside of Dixons in London. With recent news of Google’s home entertainment system and recent Motorola buy, Google may some real tech to sell in these stores and not just, you know — Google branded baby bibs.
