Asus Eee Pad Transformer Limited to 10k Units Shipped Per Month, Because of Component Shortage

Asus Eee Pad Transformer went on sale last week, with stores quickly selling out the product, which makes us believe this is a real success. Although the device is truly good, it appears that the lack of units in stores is caused by a component shortage.

Asus was aiming to ship 300.000 units per month, but now the figure is much lower, reaching 10k units. This huge decrease might have been caused by the quake in Japan or some other supply chain issue that we’re not familiar with and low output will continue till at least mid-June.

Bummer for the folks looking for a quick way to get a cheap Honeycomb tablet sooner…
