Best Buy’s teasing concerning the availability of the HTC Flyer tablet was justified, as now the product has reached pre-order status thanks to the retailer. The WiFi only version goes for $499.99, making the product a rival for the similarly priced BlackBerry PlayBook. Best Buy’s ETA has the products arriving between May 22 and the 27th.
If you’re interested in the product, know that it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and soon it will receive Honeycomb, as promised. There’s also a 7 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display on board with active digitizer and stylus, plus a Qualcomm 1.5GHz single core chip and 16GB of internal storage.
Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, a SDHC card slot and a 5MP camera round up the specs list of the device… HTC Sense 3.0 will be rocking the slate, as far as UI is concerned and this is probably its main appeal.
