MeeGo 1.2 Available Now, For Tablets and Netbooks Only

Although Nokia is completely focused on Windows Phone and getting back on track right now, MeeGo is not at all dead, with companies like Intel and LG taking care of its well being. Actually, the platform reached version 1.2, that you can find right here, complete with details and download link.

This Linux based OS gets improved Atom support, bug fixes, A2DP streaming and HSPA+ support. Also, the tablet interface shown by Intel back in February has become a reality and it’s included in this OS. This UI completes the standard netbook version and the interface of the in-car systems.

No trace of the handset edition right now, but that may have to wait till someone actually announces a MeeGo phone. Recently, we’ve heard that LG has had such plans…
