Walmart (my personal favorite retailer) has a pretty nice deal going on for the 7-inch Iconia Tab A100. They are offering the Tegra 2 powered Honeycomb tablet for $328 buckaroos and a $50 e-gift card that can be used on both Walmart.com or SamsClub.com. Buy a tablet, get a matching rake. Or SD card, or whatever floats your boat. The offer is good until August 20th either online (sold out) or in-store while supplies last. Anyone going to take advantage of this great deal?

Thanks, Cellfreak!

Months after its larger 10-inch sibling hit shelves and nearly a year since Acer first announced their intention to sell a 7-inch Android slate, the Iconia Tab A100 is now up for sale in the United States. Aside from filling a gap in Acer’s product lineup, the tablet is also notable for being the first 7-inch slate to ship with Honeycomb on board, Android 3.2. The A100gets filled out with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, a 1024×600 capacitive touch display, 5MP camera with 720p HD video capture, and an advertised 5 hours of battery life. The slate also sports a 2MP front-facing camera, microUSB and microHDMI ports, and microSD slot for expanding on provided internal storage.

Three versions of the Iconia Tab A100 are available, starting at $329.99 for the 8GB flavor. For 16GB of storage the price increases to $349.99. A Walmart exclusive version of the tablet mirrors the specs of the 8GB model.

Acer Iconia Tab A100 Coming in August, Priced at $300

Acer’s 7 inch Honeycomb tablet has had a twisted and long road till its debut, but that time has come. Or at least a new launch time frame… The Iconia Tab A100 is coming to stores in early August with a price tag of $300. This Tegra 2 unit was supposed to come in the middle of May, but it was delayed because of Honeycomb problems.

This model will be accompanied in the launch by new Aspire notebooks. As far as the A100 goes, this is considered the little brother of the 10 inch A500 model and in case you’re wondering about specs, know that the phone packs a 1GHz Tegra 2 CPU, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of storage, so nothing unbelievably new here.

The resolution of the 7 inch display will 1024 x 600 pixels. Will you buy this $300 wonderkid?

7-inch Acer Iconia A100 Pricing and Release Date Revealed

I’ve never been one for all those 10-inch Android tablets running around these days. They don’t fit well into my skinny jeans. But this 7-inch Iconia A100 from Acer, I could definitely see myself wearing. We’ve known about this device for awhile now but a solid release date or pricing was never given. The last we heard, it was going to be released this September overseas but that left us hanging here in the states.

While we still don’t have an exact date for the launch, according to an Acer email sent out to retail partners today, the Iconia Tab A100 could launch in early August for a measly $300 dollars. That’s not too bad considering we’re already at the end of July and the device is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 512MB of RAM and features a 1024×600 resolution display. Yum.
