Radio Shack Leak Outs New Release Date for HTC Vigor (Incredible HD) and Samsung Stratosphere

This image has no alt text

Looks like Radio Shack may be expecting a nice little shipment of HTC Vigors in their stores come October 20th. This leaked document also shows the Samsung Stratosphere (Epic 4G) arriving on October 6th. Last we heard, the HTC Vigor could launch as the Droid Incredible HD and early leaks were showing it for an October 13th launch. So either Radio Shack has a more up-to-date launch date, or they’ll get it a little later than everyone else. Either way, the battle for best 720p Android device is on this holiday season!

Leaked Doc Reveals HTC Vigor Launching As The Droid Incredible HD On Oct 13th

This image has no alt text

If the above image is to be believed, the HTC Vigor that we’ve been following for weeks now, could be rebranded the DROID Incredible HD when it hits Verizon on October 13th. The leaked image goes on to show the specs of the phone aside from one glaring typo: a “4.3-inch WVGA display?” While, I wouldn’t call shenanigans on that alone, (seeing how it correctly lists the device’s resolution in the next line) I’m sure it will raise a few eyebrows. Leaked pics of the device (and more recently the leaked press shot) reveal the Vigor as taking some major styling cues from the Incredible line so the change in name seems very plausible.

The rest of the specs are spot on with what we’ve been hearing on the HTC Vigor. 4G LTE enabled,  720p HD screen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM, Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, 8MP rear/2MP font facing camera, and Beats by Dr. Dre earbuds. Oh- and as an added bonus, a 32GB class 10 microSD will come inside the device to compliment the already 16GB of onboard storage (sounds fishy). If this device isn’t HTC’s next flagship, I don’t know what is. HTC is throwing their very best into this device and it looks like HTC will be first-to-market with an HD 1280×720 screen. Once again, this leaves other Android OEM’s to play catch-up. Definitely excited to see what comes of this device, how ’bout you?

Press Shot Gives Us a Clear Look at the HTC Vigor

This image has no alt text

No surprise here, folks. The HTC Vigor looks like just about every other high-end smartphone the company has produced in the past year. The above press photo won’t do much to differentiate it from the pack, but perhaps its rumored 720p display and 1.5GHz dual-core processor will. From in-the-wild photos leaked last month we know flipping the vigor over reveals a battery cover reminiscent of the HTC Incredible. Whispers have suggested it may launch as the Thunderbolt 2, but there is a chance the Vigor name will be the final branding of the device.

Verizon Leak: HTC Vigor To Be Rebranded as The Thunderbolt 2? Samsung Prime to Replace DROID Charge? [Rumor]

This image has no alt text

Turns out the beastly spec’d HTC Vigor on its way to Verizon could be the officially named Thunderbolt 2. Thanks, to our friend Mannequins from our very own Android Forums, he was able to get snag a quick pic of a handout given to him by a Verizon rep while working his shift at Best Buy Mobile. The Thunderbolt was only released a few months ago in March but things move fast in the mobile world – real fast. While this is by no means “official” (check out the spelling), it does give us a better idea of what the HTC Vigor’s Verizon branded name could be when it launches in a few more weeks.

Oh, and as I’m sure you’ve no doubt noticed, this handout also lists the “Sam Prime” as replacing the DROID Charge. Was this rep going off of inside info he was given by his superiors? Or maybe he’s an avid Phandroid reader and is going off of rumors. Once again — grain of salt, people.

HTC Vigor Passes the FCC With LTE Radios Inside

This image has no alt text

One of our AndroidForums.com members DROIDAV8R has been snooping around the FCC and noticed that one PH98100 – the HTC Vigor – has made a stop. I can’t seem to download .PDF files there right now (they’re all coming up as HTML files, but our tipster says he saw mention of Verizon’s 4G LTE radios inside. It would seem about right for a phone that’s rumored to be on the high end of the spectrum.

We’re getting a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 8 megapixel HD camera and a rumored 4.3 inch 1280×720 display. Can’t say I wouldn’t mind having this phone in my arsenal. With today’s approval, we’re probably primed for an October release – hopefully sometime in the earlier parts of the month. The Vigor just appeared on the FCC’s Equipment Authorization web site. LTE is now confirmed. The direct URL won’t copy correctly for some reason. Go to:

OET — FCC ID Search

Grantee Code = NM8 (HTC’s FCC ID)

Product Code = PH98100

First Images of the HTC Vigor Hit the Web

What do you get when you put the HTC Droid Incredible on a strict diet of protein shakes and bench presses? From the looks of it, the HTC Vigor a device rumored to be Verizon’s next big 4G LTE contender. The stylings of the handset are definitely reminiscent of the Incredible and Incredible 2, but the screen appears gargantuan in size with some additional texturing on the battery cover. From the pictures we can gather the phone will carry HTC Sense, a front-facing camera, and a dual-flash setup on the rear.

Rumors we have heard elsewhere have pointed towards an HD 720p display, 1GB of RAM, and a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU. It may also be among the first HTC handsets to make use of the companies recent Beats by Dre acquisition. Rumors are already pointing towards an October 6th release, but you know how counting your chickens before they hatch goes.

Just a day after HTC’s Vigor – rumored to be a beast of a phone with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor – hit the Bluetooth SIG, the phone has now gotten WiFi certification. All we need now is an FCC approval and we’re good to go for a probable holiday release. Other specs include a 4.3 inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM and HTC will probably be putting newly-acquired Beats’ technology inside for those who like a nice listening experience. This one’s supposed to be on Verizon whenever it does eventually get officially announced. [PDF via AndroidForums.com]

The HTC Vigor (ADR6425LVW) just passed its Bluetooth 3.0 certification. HTC’s answer to the iPhone 5 is rumored to come equipped with 4.3-inch 1280×720 resolution HD display, one of Qualcomm’s brand spankin’ new 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragons, 8MP camera, Sense 3.5, Beats audio and running Android 2.3.4. The device is rumored to hit Verizon on October 5th and with this new development, looks like we’re one step closer. (Oh – and the picture is unrelated)

HTC: “Join Us to See What’s Next” in London Night Before IFA

This image has no alt text

Well it looks like we have two major OEMs hosting their own shindigs coinciding with IFA in Berlin, Germany. Along with Samsung, HTC has announced an event titled “Join us to see what’s next,” set to kick off on September 1st, the day before the massive conference is scheduled to kick off. So what could we be in store for?

Many HTC devices have been rumored over the past couple of months. Considering this is all Europe-centric, I’d venture to guess that the HTC Ruby will be at the top of the list of announcements we see. It’s poised to be HTC’s most powerful smartphone ever with its 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Other rumors peg it as having a 4.3 inch qHD display and 1GB of RAM.

There’s also tthe HTC Holiday which is rumored to be a 4.5 inch device but falls more in line with the HTC Sensation 4G specs wise.

Other possibilities include the HTC Puccini, HTC’s first honeycomb tablet which we believe will have scribe support and is in line with most current Honeycomb tablets in terms of specs. We’ve also been hearing of an HTC Pico lately that could be the next smallish device from Europe.

And how could we forget about the HTC Vigor rumored to be HTC’s first “Beats by Dre” phone following an announcement that they’ve bought the company out? That’ll surely be a treat to see if they bring it along for the ride

And we’re hopeful there will be some other surprises to be had at the event. It’s open to the public so if you’re just as curious as we are, be sure to get on over there and check out everything they have in store. Come on back and give us your thoughts and impressions if you do attend! Facebook.com for event details.

HTC Vigor Gets Pictured, Detailed on Dutch Retailer’s Site

This image has no alt text

We’ve been hearing a lot of talk about the HTC Vigor lately, but a posting on Dutch retailer The Phone House’s site may be giving us our first look at the next superphone from HTC. The Carphone Warehouse subsidiary briefly hosted a supposed image of the handset along with a list of specs more or less confirming what we have been hearing in regards to the phone’s hardware: a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3.4, HTC 3.5, 8MP camera, 4.3-inch HD display and built-in Beats by Dre technology. The image of the Vigor also matches up with what we have been hearing as well in its resemblance to the HTC Thunderbolt The page has subsequently been pulled. Though those in the US can look forward to the Vigor on Verizon, this is the first indication that the handset could land in Europe as well.
