LG U+ LTE Revealed – 1.5GHz Dual-core, 75Mbs and 720p HD Display

This image has no alt text

Looks like LG isn’t ready to throw in the towel just yet. The South Korean manufacturer recently put up an extremely impressive flash site for their upcoming LG U+ LTE. So, just what is this LG U+? Well, the model number for the device could be the LG-LU6200 and if you want to do some serious speculating, judging from that leaked Verizon roadmap we saw a few weeks ago, could also be the Revolution 2 dropping on October 20th.

As far as specs go, the LG U+ LTE will feature a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, support for LTE up to 75Mbps and a 4.5-inch “True HD” 720p AHIPS display of which recently won an award for outclassing Samsung’s Galaxy S II AMOLED unit. The device will also come equipped with an 8MP camera, 1.3MP front facing webcam, 1GB of RAM and a super slick profile coming in at only 10.5mm thick. As it stands, the LG U+ LTE will be announced next week on the 26th and launch exclusively in South Korea (just like the Galaxy S II) but I imagine it wont be long before we see a global release. It’s going to be an interesting holiday season for Android…

T-Mobile Readies The LG Mytouch Q – Video Tutorials All Set To Go [Update: They're A Pair]

This image has no alt text

Just got word from my friend @juanaguilar_45 on a rather puzzling email from he received this evening from YouTube. Seems it was a notification email letting Mr. Aguilar know of a new video tutorial just uploaded to T-Mobile’s channel on their brand new Mytouch Q by LG. Weird thing is, we’ve never even heard of this LG manufactured Mytouch Q until now.

Attempting to click the link takes you to a private video so no luck there. Now we can start with the speculating. We’ve known of the LG Optimus Q since back in 2010 and I really don’t think (hope) this could be that same device. You may also remember an “LG Q” that was leaked in a Sprint ID pack but that doesn’t really give us anything but a name.

**UPDATE: The fellas over at AndroidGuys were able to secure a few images of the device and combined with a T-Mobile leaked roadmap, we now believe these devices (yup, 2) to be the LG Maxx and Maxx Q (QWERTY version). They’re twins! One will by called the Mytouch by LG and the other will be named the Mytouch Q by LG and both are slated for a November 2nd launch.

This image has no alt text

It wasn’t too long ago when we learned Radio Shack would be giving T-Mobile the boot and making room on store shelves for their new buddy, Verizon Wireless. Well, to help celebrate the new venture, The Shack will be offering $100 on all of their Verizon smartphones from tomorrow September 15th, through October 22nd.

Here’s the full lineup:

That means there’s no better time to pick up any one of those fancy 4G “Droid” doohickeys the kids have been talking about nowadays. Still, makes me wonder what Verizon could have up their sleeves the day after this sale is over..?

Celebrating Technology and Fashion
The LG Fashion Week campaign pairs Stacy London’s impeccable style with the innovative, futuristic eye of MADE. London brings years of fashion-industry experience to her LG style mentor role and will provide each of the MADE designers with creative consulting sessions as they design fashion-forward carrying cases to showcase the clean, modern, minimalist styling of LG Marquee. Participating MADE designers include Kevork Kiledjian, Katie Gallagher, The Lake and Stars, Erickson Beamon and Christian Cota.

Celebrating a partnership of Sprint and LG’s rich style heritage, the campaign highlights the increasing influence of technology on today’s design community and includes a Fashion Week panel discussion and product launch reception hosted by London at Milk Studios on Thursday, Sept. 15. The MADE panel discussion, entitled "How Fashion Communicates," will be moderated by Simon Collins, dean of fashion at Parsons The New School for Design, and will take an in-depth look at five key areas where technology has altered fashion design. As part of the esteemed panel, London will provide industry insights to discussion categories including designer communication, the rise of the blogger, public access to real-time happenings, retail and the shift from print to digital media.
The chic and functional LG Marquee carrying cases created by the participating designers will debut on Sept. 15 during LG’s launch event at MADE FASHION WEEK. LG Optimus Black Coming To Sprint As LG Marquee [Confirmed]

This image has no alt text

After a Radio Shack promo video briefly revealed the LG Marquee for Sprint, there was a lot of speculation that this would in fact be Sprint’s version of the LG Optimus Black We’ve known for awhile that the LG LS-855 would be Sprint’s version of the Optimus Black and now we thanks to Sprint’s Cellebrite data courtesy of PocketNow, this has all but been confirmed.

There you have it, folks. While this device may not have the dual-core punch that many of our die-hard Android readers crave (and the Android OS has yet to support) the bright Nova display should be enough to capture the attention of casual passer by’s. I’ve held this device in my hand and there’s absolutely no denying its sex appeal. Should compliment Sprint’s Android lineup nicely.

Not Forgotten by Verizon, LG Enlighten Still “Coming Soon”

This image has no alt text

The LG Enlighten was rumored to launch on August 25th, but a few weeks later the handset remains absent from Verizon’s shelves. We wouldn’t have noticed either way. Though the mid-range slider seems forgettable, it is still set of a launch with Big Red. In an upcoming catalog, the carrier displays the handset along with a promise that it is “coming soon.” As a refresher, the Enlighten features a 3.2-inch display, Android 2.3, and 800MHz CPU.

LG Univa Announced as LG Optimus Hub for Italy

This image has no alt text

The LG Univa E510, which has been making the rounds in a series of pre-release photos, has been formally introduced in Italy as the LG Optimus Hub. The Optimus Hub is slated for an October release and features a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 800MHz CPU, and 512MB of RAM. An entry-level phone in most sense, the Android 2.3.4 handset will fit in nicely with other devices on the lower end of the Optimus lineup. It also maintains an accessible price point. When available, the Hub will run a cool  €199.

LG Univa Poses For Some Quick Pics

This image has no alt text

The LG Univa (E510) was pictured in the wild today thanks to the site Mobili who was able to get some hands-on time with the device. According to the device’s system information, this little guy will feature a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 800MHz CPU, Adreno 200 GPU, 512MB of RAM and run Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Sounds pretty good for what will mostly likely be an entry level device. The LG Univa is anything but official right now but I’m sure you’ll see it (just like the Optimus One) in the hands of everyone you know in the near future. Here’s a few more pics to whet your appetite.

“LG Marquee” Could be the LG Optimus Black for Sprint [Video]

This image has no alt text

Radio Shack had quite the time showing off the exclusive they have on Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D, but for us Android enthusiasts who excrete little excitement for an alternate color of a device that’s already released, a phone called the “LG Marquee” stole the show. Our friends at Android Central point out that it looks a lot like the LG Optimus Black. And if you don’t remember, Sprint was rumored to be launching that phone after one “Optimus B” made a quick cameo in Sprint’s “Employee Packs” section for Sprint ID. We’re glad to see Sprint hasn’t given up on that one because we were absolutely in love with the display on that thing when we last saw it. Let’s hope they get this one on store shelves sooner than soon. 14 second mark in the video above.
