A newly leaked press shot is gives us a look at all angles of the Samsung Epic Touch 4G. The Sprint-boung Galaxy S II variant has been showing its face quite a bit over the past weeks, but this latest image gives us a side view and look around the rear of the phone, showing a handset not all that changed from the original international version of the phone. Still included is the highly-suggestive September 9th date displayed on the handset’s screen, a clue that many have come to believe suggests this could be the date to expect the Epic Touch 4G to launch.

Galaxy S II Family Portrait Reaffirms September 9th Launch on Sprint [Rumors]

As Samsung prepares for complete U.S. domination with their family of revamped Galaxy S II’s, a newly leaked photo surfaced on the interwebs. I’ve always been one for gross speculation and conspiracy theories so I now present to you mine, on the launch date for the Epic Touch 4G on Sprint.

So far, we’ve only heard from someone who has a cousin who works in Sprint that the Galaxy S II could launch on September 9th. With the release of a Samsung ad-spot on YouTube, this rumor was further reaffirmed by the presence of a 09/09 date found on the device’s weather widget in said promo vid. I know, grasping for straws. BUT the location of the weather just so happened to be the home of Sprint HQ in Kansas City, MO. The only thing the Samsung GS2 ad-spot failed to mention was any clear Sprint branding on the device but in today’s leaked family portrait, we can now see the device, the carrier, the date and the city, all in one clear shot.

So you can take this with a grain of salt or like me, a bag of sugar. I for one have cleared all my early plans on the September 9th and if you’re looking to pick up the Samsung Epic Touch 4G, I would suggest the same. Oh – and no need to bring a jacket, it will be a beautifully warm 89 degrees with partly sunny skies.

Samsung’s New Ad Reveals September 9th Launch for Galaxy S II On Sprint?

It was only 4 days ago that we posted on article on the a possible September 9th launch date for the Sprint Galaxy S II (Epic Touch 4G) on Sprint. This would make ‘ol #3 the first out of the gate to offer the Galaxy S II here in the states. The guys at SprintFeed claimed to have an anonymous source providing them with this info and like most things, we took it with a grain of salt.

Fast forward to today, where Samsung released an ad spot on their YouTube channel announcing the impending arrival of their Galaxy S II here in the states. At the end of the video, they prominently display the U.S. version of the GS2 (complete with 4 capacitive buttons) but upon closer inspection — the date on the device’s clock widget is set to Friday, 09/09. Interesting… After seeing a similar stunt when HTC sent out press photos of the Sensation 4G displaying that device’s rumored launch date in their clock widget, this adds just a little more weight to that September 9th launch date we’ve been hearing.

**UPDATE: One of our readers, Ben Taiber, points out that the location in the weather widget also just so happens to be the location of Sprint’s HQ in Kansas City. Nice one!

Of course, we wont know anything until Samsung gives us the official launch dates and details for the U.S. Galaxy S II variants (hopefully) at their August 29th event. But if you’re as excited as I am about Sprint being the first U.S. carrier to offer the Galaxy S II, you may want to plan ahead and take that vacation day come Friday, September 9th, 2011.

Samsung Epic Touch 4G Launching on Sprint September 9th?

An unsubstantiated report coming out of SprintFeed claims that Sprint could be among the first of the US carriers to launch the Samsung Galaxy S II. Under the name Epic Touch 4G, we could be seeing the followup to last year’s Epic 4G as early as September 9th. The timing matches up with previous whispers about the launch of the Galaxy S II in the States, but the date remains a rumor for now. All will be revealed (we hope) come August 29th at Samsung’s launch event for its new North American lineup.

Rumor: Sprint’s Galaxy S II to be Named Samsung Epic Touch 4G, Launching September

This is one rumor I’m sure many have been waiting to hear about. BGR has allegedly received word from a source of theirs that Sprint will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S II in September. According to them, its name will be the Samsung Epic Touch 4G, a nod to the fact that this one doesn’t have a hardware QWERTY keyboard. They also claim WiMax radios will find some room inside the device’s chassis.

That’s all we know for now, but the timing does suggest earlier rumors of Verizon being the first carrier to get it are true. And Verizon’s said to be getting it later this month, if it means anything. Unfortunately, we don’t even have official acknowledgement from any carrier or Samsung regarding these devices’ existence. We know it’s coming, but we still feel very far away.
