Android 3.0 Honeycomb to Debut Next Week; February 2nd is the Start of a New Age

Android 3.0 Honeycomb is seen by many as the start of a new technological age, since it’s the most revolutionary OS seen in the last 5 years, we think. While we’ve already seen videos of the platform and checked out its SDK preview, Google might still surprise us next week, when they unveil the OS.

The event what will include the announcement will take place on February 2nd and it’ll be held at the Mountain View campus. Honeycomb is a tablet-optimized operating system, that’s already been seen on the Motorola Xoom and LG G-Slate tablets, but never taken for a hands-on ride till now. This will probably happen next week…

Although experts say that Android 3.0 will separate the main OS into two segments: one for handsets and one for tablets, the SDK preview seems to show that the platform will also reach smartphones in the future. For now it focuses on tablets, like the Xoom and G-Slate that will be coming in weeks.

If this means the death of the iPad (and iPad 2) or not we’ll see this summer…
