ASUS PadFone Branding Points Towards New Product at Computex 2011

After the success of the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, its maker wants a repeat and it’s ready to unveil a hybrid between a tablet and a smartphone if we’re to believe the recent teasing going on. Computex 2011 will make the device see the light of day, but till then we have a hint about the product: a trademark for the name PadFone.

ASUS already applied for this trademark, as shown by the U.S Patent and Trademark Office, with the application being created on May 23rd. This document protects the style and brand as well, but we have no details about the product just yet. This could be the final name of the new slate, or a mere codename.

We could be seeing something like the Atrix 4G smartphone-lapdock combo, or something more complex, like the HTC tube concepts we’ve seen in the past. Which one will it be?
