It’s baaaaaaack… The possibly discontinued HTC EVO View 4G is being offered once again at a heavily discounted price, this time — for 1 day only — from online retailer Daily Steals. The 32GB Sprint branded 4G version of the HTC Flyer can be picked up for only $230 and with HTC updating the device to Android 3.1 Honeycomb, makes this an enticing buy, indeed. Keep in mind this is NOT a refurbished model and the 7-inch tablet will come brand new in its original packaging. Now, all you have to do is find a good price on the HTC Scribe pen and you’ll be all set. Anybody picking one of these up?

Thanks, Otis!

HTC View 4G Android Tablet Hands-on Time at CTIA 2011 (Video)

You must’ve heard that Sprint introduced the HTC View 4G Android tablet during this week’s CTIA 2011 event. Well, now we’re back with extra details, including a hands-on experience with the slate. We’re dealing with an Android 2.3 device here, one that uses the HTC Sense 3.0 interface, that includes a very cool carousel spin view, as shown in the video below.

As far as hardware is concerned, under the hood of this beauty we find a 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. You can add an extra 32GB via memory card and this rebranded HTC Flyer also supports DLNA, as well as WiMAX 4G, courtesy of Sprint. Back to Sense, the UI allows you to use up to 8 home pages, completely customizable.

With the Scribe technology you’ll use the stylus that comes with the device to underline, circle or takes notes on web pages, on photos and whatnot. After you mark what’s worth seeing or reading, you can share it with your friends on Facebook. There’s also an option to record audio, as you type with your stylus, so a document from a meeting can hold both handwritten notes and some audio files from the conference.

The e-reader app is also shown in action, as well as the back cover of the HTC View 4G, that’s different from the one of the Flyer, at least in this aspect. We also get to see the back 5MP camera and the front 1.3 megapixel one. Release is scheduled for this summer, while the price is a mystery right now.

HTC Scribe Tablet Coming to MWC 2011; No Slate at CES From Taiwanese Maker?

DigiTimes has an inside scoop on the HTC Scribe tablet, that’s apparently only coming to MWC 2011 and not to CES. The blog mentions the Scribe as a 7 inch tablet, that will be showcased in Barcelona in February, as MWC kicks off.

The report also claims that the device runs Android 3.0 and quotes Taiwanese component makers as sources. HTC has been known for skipping the tablet market for a while now, although they’ve managed to produce some pretty appealing Android smartphones. Let’s see if this rumor is true, although we wouldn’t mind that, considering that CES will have enough goodies to satisfy us, till brands like HTC and Nokia are ready to deliver tablets.

HTC Scribe, Next Android Tablet to Hit CES?

HTC might actually be developing a tablet, since the Taiwanese company has just filed a trademark application for the HTC Scribe name. This can point towards a brand new Android slate, according to some sources and the company also listed the unit as a “handheld wireless device, namely, a tablet computer”.

It doesn’t get any clearer than this, we can say at this point… Also, it seems HTC also filed a trademark for the word “Scribe”, bearing the same description. Speculations say that the device will be based on a NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU, it’ll support a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, feature 2GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot with support for up to 32GB cards.

Scribe will run Android Honeycomb, which recently turned out to be version 2.4 and not Android 3.0 as we had previously heard. Maybe we’ll see the device at CES 2011…
