Toshiba AT200 7.7mm Ultraslim Tablet Passes the FCC

Toshiba’s not the first name that comes to mind when thinking about a Honeycomb tablet, as the Thrive didn’t really impress, but the company gives it a second go with the AT200 model. This extremely thin slate measures 7.7mm in thickness and it was first shown in action at IFA 2011.

Now it’s back in the news, having just passed the FCC tests, together with the AT700 model that will be launched in the US in December. It seems that the AT200 is manufactured by Quanta, the same brand that makes the Kindle Fire and BlackBerry PlayBook. Other things to know about the AT200 is that it has a 10.1 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.

This is the thinnest 10 inch tablet till now and also one of the lightest at 558 grams. Inside it we find a 1.2GHz TI OMAP CPU and a PowerVR SGX540 GPU. Other features include a microSD card slot, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and various sensors. Stereo speakers and a micro HDMI port round up the specifications list.
