7 Inch Tablets to Stand for 60% of White Box Models in 2011

DigiTimes has been reporting that 7 inch tablet models will stand for 60% of output in 2011. The “fault” for this trend belongs to Chinese manufacturers, who are fond of this format. Next in line on the popularity scale there’s the 8.9 inch model, at 15% and the 9.7 inch model at 10%.

Research proves that in China consumers take the price as an important factor in purchase, so 7 inch models become more popular this way. This means that Dell’s 10 inch Streak 10 Pro slate is destined to fail, since it was announced for China recently. We expect those white box tablets mentioned to hit Europe and the US soon enough and they might make a dent in the iPad’s market share, especially with the proper pricing.
