ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 3G and Slider Coming to the UK in August

ASUS UK informed its fans that the 3G version of the hot selling Eee Pad Transformer will reach the UK in August. Also, the Eee Pad Slider will be there at the same time. Last we heard, this device was the number 2 tablet in June (or rather will be), excluding the iPad. The slate is expected to ship 300,000 units this month.

No specific launch time frame or pricing have been mentioned and we sure hope we won’t be seeing delays. Both these versions have been mentioned back at CES 2011 in January and the arrival of the 3G Transformer was required by the success of the WiFi version. ASUS pushed the WiFi model, after some studies showed that users would like to tether their 3G smartphones to a WiFi slate.

Keep in mind that this is only the UK launch we’re talking about, so no info about the US. Meanwhile, demands have been very high for this model, so we expect ASUS to complain of shortages at some point…
