Microsoft Tablet Coming in 2012?

One would have thought that after giving up the Microsoft Courier tablet/e-reader project, the Redmond giant would leave aside slates for a while and focus on Windows 8 to conquer this segment. However, Digitimes has some info that MS hasn’t given up on a hardware product, so it intends to launch a tablet next year.

Supposedly, the maker or Win 8 is working with Texas Instruments and Taiwanese manufactures, trying to launch its own branded device with Windows 8 by the end of 2012. Aside from the Xbox console, Microsoft is not exactly the best hardware producer there is, with the Zune failing to deliver and the Kin messaging phones being a total disaster.

Well, considering the funds that the company has, there’s always the time and money for an extra attempt or failure, right?
