Panasonic Toughbook is a Rugged Slate, Ready for Q4 Launch

Panasonic has made official its intention to take over the tablet world with a rugged Android model. Called the Panasonic Toughbook, this tablet is supposed to take off in Q4 and it comes with a 10.1 inch XGA display (1024 x 768 pixels), that should work well in direct sunlight.

This display is a multitouch one and you also get an active stylus bundled with the unit, plus GPS and optional 3G/4G connectivity. No info on the flavor of Android on this model, but Froyo or Gingerbread are pretty solid options. Panasonic Toughbook will be focused on security and durability first and then the other features.

Well, now we should wait for the first Panasonic Android smartphone, whenever that will happen.
